Garage Door and Spring Repair
Garage Door Repairs
Garage door spring repair is one of the most common repair jobs on your garage door that we get to do. Although we even say that it is a common job, going with a professional service for this type of issue has its major benefits. The garage door spring is under a great deal of pressure and can cause serious injury. What we are going to do is let you know what are some clear signs that you may need a spring repair service and why we believe that going down the do it yourself road can really be a risky business decision. Let’s get right to it then!
Spotting A Broken Spring
So, if you get up one morning and you try to open your garage, but can’t and you look up virtually right next to where the motor for your door opener is and you see that there is a black spring that has been detached from the other part you are bound to have a spring problem. Now, if you are in a hurry to get out you will usually be able to open the door manually without too much trouble even when you have this particular issue. Obviously, though, the door is not going to work correctly until you fix the problem.
Why Not Fix The Issue Right Away?
What a lot of very active people will do is go out and buy a new spring and just replace the broken spring with their own toolset. Make no mistake about it, for the most part, you are going to be able to open and close the door right after that multiple times. The reason that we believe you should not just go ahead and take that road is the fact that if you have another issue that is causing the spring to break. If you do, you are going to be back to square one after a couple of days even if you replace the spring.
What We Will Do
Before we just head out to replace the spring what we will do is give the entire system a run down and figure out what may have been responsible for the spring ultimately breaking up completely. At times we will just find that you had an old spring that was not able to handle the pressure anymore and we will go ahead and replace it. By going through and checking all of the other components though we will be able to guarantee that you are not going to have another spring issue a couple of days down the road.
Not All Doors Are Made Exactly The Same
Most doors open and close with an electrically powered basic pulley system. Obviously, this seems easy enough. However, there are certain doors, where the exact location of the system can be harder to pinpoint than others. This makes for plenty of botched repairs especially, when amateurs try their hand at these types of systems. All we could say is that if you really want to go ahead and avoid all of those potential issues all you have to is give us a call!
